Sunday Snapshots - Finally, cupcake time.

This weekend, we finally got a chance to have some family over for Funky Monkey's cupcakes. I felt so bad that it took so long. First, we had troubles getting everyone together, then, twice we were sick with stomach bugs. Funky Monkey was very understanding about it, but since it was his 10th birthday I thought that it should be more special. But we got a chance to have some family over for cupcakes. He wanted them to be Angry Birds cupcakes, so I got them done. In the process, I got a chance to unload all my baby girl clothes, And kids got a chance to spend time with Grandparents and Aunty. Yey!!!!

Baby Monkey's birth story.

I am happy to write my birth story here in little spare time that I have now. For the last few weeks I was getting really anxious about Baby Monkey not arriving early. For some reason I was really convinced that he was going to be an early baby. And I had lots of Braxton Hicks daily to convince me that maybe I was right. But then this horrible sickness invaded our family and we all got very sick. It started with Girly Monkey and then Little Monkey got it, and then Daddy got super sick and finally me and Funky Monkey got it too. It was a really nasty bug that made all of us miserable. Most of us would have coughing fits that would lead to throwing up. I am suspecting that what we really went through wasn't a case of flu but a case of whooping cough, at least the symptoms fit the diagnosis.

Our baby boy is full term.

This is what a full term baby in my belly looks like!
Yey, I made it ti 37 weeks! It means that our baby boy is full term and can come at any time. It also means that sometimes between now and 5 weeks from now we will be holding our precious little bundle in our hands. I am excited! But I am also really scared. Everything is about to change. Everyone's role in this family is about to turn up side down and chaos is about to enter until we can figure out the new ways of functioning in our family. Babies do that. And our life just started having predictability for the first time in years. We just had it to the point that I knew what everyone's role was, what everyone's schedule was, and what everyone's expectations were. Now I am about throw all of that into the wind and rediscover everything.

The gift of Grandparents.

How important are grandparents in kids' lives? My answer, VERY. We are blessed in that Daddy's parents are very involved in Monkeys' lives. They see the kids often, take interest in their interest, love spending time with them, play with them, and even share information and older stories with them. My Monkeys love spending time with Grandma and Gramps. They get excited when we go over to their place, or when one or both grandparents come and visit. They love sharing their activities with their Grandparents, and they always find it special when Grandparents come to watch their soccer game, or their dance recital, or any other activity that they are involved in. I love that they have such a great relationship with Daddy's parents.

Sunday Snapshots - another cake!

Hello to all my readers. I hope that everyone had a wonderful day of rest and got a chance to do something relaxing for themselves. We had a busy day as always (I can't remember last time that days were not busy!). We started with Girly Monkey's soccer game and then we drove around a bit to see if we could find a new truck for Daddy. No luck though, so he can't do his work tomorrow. I then finished the cake and we drove over to Grandma and Gramps' place to share the Birthday cake with them. It's always great going over to their place since Monkeys LOVE spending time with their grandparents. Have I said how great it is that Daddy's parents are so involved in Monkeys' lives? Well, it's great!
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for Money-Wise Mondays!
Another foggy morning

This is another cake for Girly Monkey. This time she
wanted a peacock.

She has had 3 6th birthdays now. Does that mean that she is 18?

My Monkeys are too active to sit still for very long.
Learning to shop
Even shopping can be fun
Little Monkey is still sick today
Girly Monkey is making him feel better.
Grandma gave us her famous salad
and we had it for supper!

Yum!

Monkeys loved Grandma's salad.

Even Little Monkey felt better and ate some.
